La déchirure (Al-Insiqaq)
1
Quand le ciel se déchirera
2
23
Or, Allah sait bien ce qu’ils dissimulent.
24
Annonce-leur donc un châtiment douloureux.
25

8
sera jugé avec mansuétude
Note [édition originale] : Text. : sera compté d’un compte léger.
    9
    11
    appellera l’anéantissement
Note [édition originale] : C.-à-d. : souhaitera périr tant le châtiment lui fera peur.
      12
      alors qu’il sera exposé à un brasier (sa‛îr) ;
      13
      il aura été allègre, parmi les siens, sur terre ;
      14

        23
Or Allah sait bien ce qu’ils cachent.
        24
        Fais-leur annonce heureuse d’un châtiment cruel !
        25

        The Rending
        1
        When heaven is rent asunder
        2
        and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed;
        3
        when earth is stretched out
        4
and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself,
        5
and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed!
        6
O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him.
        7
Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand,
        8
he shall surely receive an easy reckoning
        9
and he will return to his family joyfully.
        10
But as for him who is given his book behind his back,
        11
        he shall call for destruction
        12
and he shall roast at a Blaze.
        13
        He once lived among his family joyfully;
        14
he surely thought he would never revert.
        15
Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him.
        16
No! I swear by the twilight
        17
and the night and what it envelops
        18
and the moon when it is at the full,
        19
you shall surely ride stage after stage.
        20
Then what ails them, that they believe not,
        21
and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow?
        22
Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies,
        23
and God knows very well what they are secreting.
        24
So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement,
        25
except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing."

        3
And when the earth is spread out"
        4

        5
And attentive to her Lord in fear!
        6
Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence).
        7
Then whoso is given his account in his right hand"
        8

        13

He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah).
        15

        16
Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset,
        17
And by the night and all that it enshroudeth,
        18
And by the moon when she is at the full,
        19
That ye shall journey on from plane to plane.
        20
What aileth them, then, that they believe not"
        21
And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)?
        22
        Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny;
        23
And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding.
        24
So give them tidings of a painful doom,
        25
Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing.

                        SURA LXXXIV.
                        SCISSIO.
                        MECCANA :
                        COMMATUM VIGINTI TRIUM.
                        1
                        1.  Cum Cęlum scissum fuerit.
                        2
                        10
                        10.  At verò, cui datus fuerit liber suus post tergum suum :
                        11
                        mox invocabit perditionem ex desperatione.
                        12
                        11.  Et descendet comburendus in Tartarum.
                        13
                        12.  Quippè ipse fuit in familia sua, dum viveret insolens.
                        14
Utique erat rediturus. Porrò Dominus ejus erat in eum intuens.
                        16
                        17
                        15.  Et noctem, & quod congregat nox animantium.
                        18
                        16.  Et Lunam, cùm collecta fuerit (idest plenam ).
                        19
                        17.  Quod vos certè feremini in statum à statu.
                        20
                        18.  Quid porrò est illis, quòd non credunt ?
                        21
                        19.  Et, cùm legitur illis Alcoranus, non adorant ?
                        22
                        24
                        22.  Annuncia ergo illis pœnam dolorificam.
                        25
                        23.  Verumtamen, qui crediderint, & operati fuerint recta, ipsis erit merces indeficiens.
                        Note [édition originale] : NOTÆ.
Ex primo Suræ versu desumitur inscriptio الانشقاق , Scissio. Hanc verò plerique Meccanam, aliqui Medinensem faciunt. Illius versus alii tres, alii quinque supra viginti enumerant. Qui legerit Suram Scissionis, liberabit eum Deus, ne detur illi liber suus post tergum suum.
III.  Et, cùm terra extensa fuerit. Cùm aucta fuerit in latitudine sua in morem pellis, quandò extenditur : nec remanserit in ea ædificium ullum, aut mons ullus.
VI.
                        X.  Liber suus post tergum suum. Alligabitur dextera ejus ad collum ejus, & ponetur sinistra ejus post tergum, & ita accipiet illa librum suum.
XII.  Insolens.
XIV.  Itaque non juro. ] Vide, quæ suprà dicta sunt.
XVII.  Feremini in statum à statu. Equitabitis, vel navigabitis in coopertorium à coopertorio  : seu à contignatione in contignationem. Nimirùm, ut explicat Gelal, transferemini a vita in mortem, & à morte in resurrectionem.
                          Note [édition originale] : REFUTATIONES.
